The guy from Acda, the public water supplier, was content with the hole that niklas had dug and started to work at about 8. at 10 he was done, and we now not only have a shiny new water counter, but we and the two neighbours now have a valve to close the water outside. before we had an inside counter which had been damaged by frost one of the ten years that the house was standing there empty. and a very cute closing valve for all the three houses together. now if we have to do work inside the house, we don't need to cut the water supply for our two next neighbours any more. nor do they. what rests is to build a little brick protection hut around the counter and valves and then refill the hole. inside niklas is connecting the mains to a rather sofisticated distribution system.
