hot water from the sun

Now that we have moved in to our house, all our warm water, for dishwashing and showering, gets heated by the sun. It is quite a nice feeling to have skipped the electric water heater in the little rented house. Italy still gets a lot of its electricity from dirty coal fired power plants. It is a bit surprising that not all houses have solar water heaters on the roof, with the amount of sun here. Even our works supervisor was a bit surprised that we were installing ‘ugly’ panels on our roof. I think they are quite shiny and flashy actually. And with the nice weather we have here there is no shortage of hot water, could even serve a few guests!!
