I read on the web that THE big scandal in Sweden just before midsummer was that foreign strawberries had been repackaged and sold as swedish. Swedes believe that Swedish strawberries are best, and are prepared to pay a premium price for it. Not that I want to get into the debate whether or not Swedish strawberries really are the best, but I agree that if it says these are Swedish strawberries, it should be true. Maybe they are best because they are locally produced? I’d think so. Cause we have Italian local produced strawberries from our own garden, and the last few for midsummer. Now the cherry season starts.
