Never again?

last year we set the little laurel tree, and it has grown a little. We took home a few leaves from our neighbour's tree and then felt a bit silly for not taking more when we had to buy a pack in the shop for lots of money, cause there are many laurel trees here in the village and it is for 'free'. But now Pierina has taken the issue to a new level. You remember Pierina, the now 93 year old woman with the best garden in the village.. she had a fantastic laurel tree in her garden.. and she had it cut.. why? because it was 'shadowing' her veggies.. and hindered their growth, and laurel is not really that important according to her nephew. as those trees are around everywhere and one needs only a few leaves really.. So i feel that i won't ever (ever is a big word, maybe we will not have the italian connection forever, but lets just assume for now) buy laurel again and pick from our neighbours and our own tree instead .. and if you feel like coming to visit.. I am sure we can find you a good tree to take a piece to take home so you won't have to spend money on the packaged stuff for some time to come.. that
